How to Enable or Disable Software Rendering instead of GPU Rendering in IE9

With Internet Explorer 9, Microsoft has done a great job speeding this browser up and integrating a hardware accelerator. While Chrome 7 and Firefox 4.0 are only partially accelerated. But sometimes Internet Explorer 9 has performance or fidelity problems when showing webpage content. You might see a page scrolling slow or some page element not working right. This is a know issues on some graphic cards and will be addressed in a future updated to Internet Explorer. Here is a work around if you are experiencing this issue.

How To

First close all instance of Internet Explorer and make sure no iexplore.exe processes are running in Task Manager.

Go to Start and click Control Panel or Search for Control Panel in the Start Search

Click on Network and Internet

Then click on Internet Options

Now go over to the Advanced tab and check the box next to Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering

Click OK or Apply to commit the changes. Now your Internet Explorer 9 will use software instead of hardware. If you want to use hardware simple go back to Internet Options and uncheck the box near Use software rendering instead of GPU rendering
