View Text Boundaries in Word 2010 or Word 2007

If you are someone that does a lot of editing or formatting in Microsoft Word, you might have a need to view the actually text boundaries to make sure you are with in them. Enabling them is an easy task. Here is how to view text boundaries in Word 2010 or Word 2007.

Since this Word tutorial can be down in Word 2007 and Word 2010 we are going with 2010 since it is newer and we like it a lot better.

Before we get started here is what Word will look like without the text boundaries in place. Just a normal Word document.

Now lets enable the text boundaries. First open Word, just search for Word in the Start Search or look under the Programs folder for the start menu under Microsoft Office. Since we are using Word 2010 we will open that. After you opened Word 2007 or 2010 go to the File menu, or Office button and click Options.

Under the options menu click the Advanced menu item in the left frame and scroll down to Show Document content section and check the box next to Show text boundaries.

Click ok and look at Word now. You will see what we have in the image below.

If you don’t want the text boundaries anymore just go back to the Options menu under Advanced under the Show document content group and remove the check box near Show text boundaries. That is it.
