Learning Ubuntu: How to Update Ubuntu’s Repository using Software Sources Tool

Most of the instructions for adding extra repositories to Ubuntu requires using the command prompt. If you are unfamiliar with the command prompt or just new to Ubuntu here is a easy and simple way to do this!

So what are Ubuntu Repositories? Repositories on Ubuntu are the locations that you can download software from.

Go to the System | Administration | Software Sources menu

Update Ubuntu Repository

The Software Sources menu will open letting you easily change the repositories by checking boxes.

Update Ubuntu Respository -2

Just make sure the universe repository is checked so you can get most public available software.
