Use These Free Apps to Get the Start Menu back on Windows 8
Rumor does have it that Windows 8.1 will get the start button back. Since it is not out yet lets get the start button and menu back with these awesome apps. They are not in any specific order, but if I do have to mention our favorite it is Start Menu 8.
The first app to return the start button and menu back is Pokki. Pokki has a bunch of other features besides the start menu and start button. Pokki has its own app store with hundred of apps. Like Facebook, Angry Birds and Gmail. Pokki also brings back the Start Search feature so you can quickly look up your apps.

Start Menu 8
The next start menu and start button app is Star tMenu 8. Start Menu 8, not only brings back the start button and the Windows start menu, but it also lets you skip the Metro desktop. This can come in handy if you just want a Windows 7 experience with Windows 8. Don’t forget to customize the look of Start Menu 8.

Another great alternative is Classic Shell. With Classic Shell you get 3 different styles to your start menu. The first one Windows Classic, followed by Windows XP, and then the Windows Vista/7 look. You can even customize the start button by adding in your own image or using the defaults.
