iPhones are awesome devices that let us have the entire world in our pocket. One of my favorite past times for my phone is customizing the ring tone for my favorite contacts. With the introduction of iOS 7, Apple let iPhone users change the vibration pattern with a simple addition to the Sounds setting. This mans we no longer have to deal with those default vibration patterns. No more standard Alert vibrations here or that S.O.S one either. Here is how to create custom vibrations on your iPhone.
Create Custom Vibrations
To create a new vibration pattern for your iPhone we will need to head over to the Settings app. It should be on your home screen unless you moved it around. Don’t worry if you can’t find your Settings app, use Spotlight search to find it or reset your iPhone Home Screen.
To customize the vibration pattern in the Setting App head over to the Sounds setting.
Within the Sounds setting locate the Ringtone settings and press it.
On the Ringtone Setting you will want to press the Vibration settings.
Under Vibration scroll down to the bottom until you see Create new Vibration. This is where we will create a new vibration pattern.
The New Vibration setting will open. Here you will want to tap the screen. Tapping the screen will start recording your new vibration. When it is finish you can save it or start over.
Play around with the vibration creator for your iPhone. You might be surprised on what you can come up with. Now I’ll leave you with a question. Do any of you create your own patterns? If you do who do you set for? Don’t worry we will show you how to set these vibrations and ringtones in another post.
