Create Bootable Windows 7 Flash Drive
First steps you need to do is download and install the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool from the link above. Next you will need to make sure you have an ISO handy for Windows 7. You can go to the bottom of the post to a link on where to download a copy of Windows 7, just make sure you have your own product key.
After you have all the prerequisites in order launch the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool. You wil be at the screen below. On this screen you, click Browse to find your Windows 7 ISO. When you are ready click Next to continue.
The next step is to create a bootable USB drive or burn Windows 7 to a DVD. Since we are going to make a bootable flash drive click on USB device to get started.
At the next screen you will need to select your USB drive. Find your flash drive in the drop down box. Then Click Begin copying to start the process.
You might be prompted that your USB drive will be erased. So make sure you have no data on it. This entire process will take some time so be patient while it runs.
When the Windows 7 USB/DVD tool is complete eject your USB drive. Head over to a computer you want to install Windows on and give it a try. Remember that there are many other ways of creating bootable drives. One of them is using the diskpart to format your flash drive and then copy the contains of your Windows installation disk to the flash drive. This works great, but can be a long and tedious process.
