Add the Windows Vista Aero Flip to the Taskbar in Windows 7

Windows Vista Aero Flip let you tab through open windows in a cool 3D way. Unlike Windows Vista, Windows 7 doesn’t have the quick launch shortcut in the quick launch toolbar. Here is how you created the Windows Switcher, or Flip 3D, and sometimes called Aero Flip, to your Windows 7 taskbar using a shortcut.

Frist create a new shortcut on the desktop by right clicking on the desktop and going to New, then Shortcut.

Type the following line into the Type the location of the item and click NEXT.

C:\Windows\System32\rundll32.exe dwmapi #10

Click Next then and give it a name, I will call min Windows Switcher so I now what it is. Click finish when you are done. Now you should have a blank shortcut that will start the Windows Vista Aero Flip. If you want you can change it by right clicking on the icon and go to Properties.

Go to the Shortcut tab on the Properties dialog box and click the Change Icon button.

Enter the path below in the Look for icons in this file:

%SYSTEMROOT%\system32\imageres.dll

Find the Window Switcher icon, it should be in the top left corner and click ok.

Click Ok again and that’s it, you are now ready to pin it to the taskbar or just leave it on the desktop. You can drag the shortcut to the taskbar or right click on it and pin to taskbar.

or just use the hotkey combo (WINDOWS KEY + TAB), this shortcut is why the program is still able to be found in windows 7.
