Have you every deleted a file by accident and really needed that file? Don’t worry DiskDigger is the program you need!
What is DiskDigger?
DiskDigger is a tiny little app that doesn’t require you to install anything. You can download it and unzip it and start using it. DiskDigger is a cool little app that helps recover deleted files, pictures, and some movie files.
How to Use it
Download and unzip DiskDigger and launch the program.
When it opens it will ask you to chose a disk. Select the where you deleted the files from and click next.
Next you have two choices. Lets go with the first one to find file names with DiskDigger. Make sure to select the partition that your file was on and click next.
This process is fairly quick and shouldn’t take that long to find files.
To save the files you want just right click on them and choose Restore selected files. You can also hold the shift key down and select multiply files.
If you file didn’t show up in the first attempt go back to recovery options and chose the second choice. This is a much longer process but will find a lot more files.
The next menu lets you chose what files you want to search for. For now I’m going have it look for all of them.
This process takes a long time, so get ready to wait.
After it is finished you can copy the files just like before by right clicking on them and choosing Save.
Conclusion
From what I’ve seen this is a good app. It does a great job but can take some time. Some files are not recoverable and will not show up in the preview. Just remember to always make sure you don’t need a file before you delete it.
