Just deleting an item, or sending it to the recycling bin doesn’t permanently delete them. You can use recovery programs to recover the files, but if you didn’t want other people to do this then you will need to permanently delete them. Here is a quick and easy way to permanently delete any file on your computer with Freeraser.
Installing and Using Freeraser
After downloading, link below, and starting the installation you will be asked if you want the Standard, C drive, or portable, removable disk, installation. Select the one that best fits you and finish the installation.
For this tutorial we selected the standard version which installs on the C drive under programs. After the installation is complete and you run Freeraser you will get a new recycle bin icon.
If you look at the tray icons you will also have a new one.
Right clicking on the icon will give you some options to customize Freeraser’s recycle bin icon. You can also change how you delete the files.
To the fun part, deleting the files for good. Just drag and drop or right click on Freeraser’s recycle bin and choose Select File to Destory. You will be prompted to continue. Just continue and say good bye to that file for good.
